Happy Valentine's Day

I love Valentine's Day. I think it's the all the pink and red and the romantic decorations are what draw me in to it. Like these cupcakes that my hubby made for our daughter's Valentine's Day school party today. How sweet was that? Daddy making the cupcakes?!?? I get to take the credit later today. After all, I did put the heart shaped toothpicks into the cupcakes :)

Now while he was busy making cupcakes I've been busy making romantic decorations. I found this Ruffly Felt Rosette Wreath tutorial on Domestifluff and fell totally in love with it! I thought, hey, this would make a great heart shaped Valentine's Day wreath. The tutorial uses a styrofoam circle but I could not find a heart-shaped one so I purchased a 12" straw heart-shaped wreath... have you ever try to make something with a straw wreath?? .. ugh.. I had a mess everywhere. So luckily I bought two and I tried a second time using my 10 yr old's suggestion to leave the plastic wrap on the wreath .. it worked!

It is some what time consuming making all of the 3" felt circles (289 to be exact). I used my OLFA Circle Cutter (which by the way is the neatest little tool) to cut my felt circles.

Here is a demo video on how to operate the OLFA Circle Cutter ...

Happy Valentine's Day!
